Luckily as can be seen once the paint was removed we ended up with a
great
body shell with very little rust. We now carry out modifications to fit power
steering, electric windows and other updates before the body heads to the
body shop. At the body shop, rust sections are cut out and new hand made
panels welded into place and lead loaded. As sections are repaired they are
coated with primer to avoid any surface rust on the bare panels.
While the bodywork is being done, its time to start on the
mechanicals. First of all we dummy assemble the short stud 4.2 engine with all additional brackets
and modifications done to accept air conditioning, power steering and fuel
injection. The engine is then stripped and sent for machining.
The inlet manifold is modified to accept fuel injectors and other sensors.
New heater pipes are made and all parts organised for painting or powder coating.
